Q: Any memorable internships or professional experiences?

A: My most memorable internship was one that I just finished with AvantStay here in LA. AvantStay is a short-term rental start-up at the intersection of real estate, technology, and hospitality. My favorite part about my experience at AvantStay was simple: the people. I genuinely enjoyed coming to the office every day to work through the complex issues facing a fast-growing venture backed start-up in an emerging industry. I highly recommend before graduating to gain experience with a start-up if you have the opportunity. Typically, start-ups will be the only place in undergrad that you can make such a large impact and in-turn learn at an accelerated pace.

Q: What else are you involved with on campus and why?

A: At UCLA I am also involved with UConsulting, a student consulting organization on campus. I was drawn to UC not only because of the opportunity to work with clients and deliver powerful recommendations to their businesses, but to also learn from the amazing older members of the club. I have had such an awesome experience with UConsulting from the client work, directing this past recruitment cycle, and endless amounts of memories with the other members of the organization.

Q: Favorite or most useful class at UCLA so far and why?

A: Environment 25 with Professor Bassett. The class is about sustainable agriculture and food production, which I never thought I would be interested in, but Prof. Bassett does an amazing job teaching the course. Everyday he brings in a new food from either a local farmers market or an interesting place from around the world. 11/10 recommend to take it, specifically in the summer sessions!
